Day 1 Morning embarkation of the Eastern & Oriental Express. Settle into your compartment before brunch is served in the Restaurant Car. Afternoon visit to the River Kwai and a boat excursion along the river. Afternoon tea served in your compartment. Dress for dinner and a relaxing evening in the Bar Car with its resident pianist.

Day 2 Breakfast in your compartment while you view the changing scenery as the train passes from Thailand into Malaysia. After lunch a visit to Observation Car before the train pulls into Butterworth. Guided excursion to colonial Georgetown, Penang, including an introductory tour of the historic town and Fort Cornwallis, part by trishaw.

Day 3 Breakfast on board. Cross the causeway over the Straits of Johor for a morning arrival in Singapore.
