Day 1 Morning embarkation of the Eastern & Oriental Express. Cross to Malaysia via the causeway over the Straits of Johor and enjoy lunch as the scenery passes by. Afternoon tea served in your compartment. Dress for dinner and a relaxing evening in the Bar Car with its resident pianist. Early evening, the E&O pauses at Kuala Lumpur.

Day 2 Breakfast in your compartment before arriving in Butterworth. Morning guided excursion to colonial Georgetown, Penang, including an introductory tour of the historic town and Fort Cornwallis, part by trishaw. Lunch on board. View the changing scenery from the Observation Car as the train crosses into Thailand. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 3 Breakfast on board. Morning visit to the River Kwai and a boat excusion along the river. Lunch on board before arrival in Bangkok mid afternoon.
