Day 1 Kuala Lumpur - Cameron Highlands Pick up from city hotels. Heading north onto the state of Perak, your
journey to Cameron Highlands(the centre of Malaysian tea production)takes you to altitude of 1500-1800 metres above sea level. Vegetables
grow in profusion and flowers bloom, everywhere in the cool weather, which
can drop to 8 degrees Celsius. After driving on the North-South Expressway
for about 2 hours from Kuala Lumpur we will break for lunch in Tapah before
continuing the journey on the scenic mountain road to Cameron Highlands.
Along the way visit a bamboo basket cottage industry, a refreshing stop
at the Lata Iskandar(Iskandar Waterfalls)and an opportunity to
see the Orang Asli (Malaysian aboriginal) complete with their blowpipes. (Lunch)
Day 2 Cameron Highland - Penang Your day begins by visiting one of the tea plantations owned by the
Boh Plantations to watch the processing of black tea and later to sample
various kind of tea in the teahouse. After the tea break we will visit
the local fruit / vegetable market where fresh produce are sold directly
to the locals by the farmers themselves and see the vegetable terraces
nearby. In the late morning, continue with a pleasant drive downhill to
Tapah and northwards to Ipoh - the city of millionaires’ which made its
fortune from the rich tin mines of Kinta Valley, the heart of tin dredging
in Malaysia. You will visit one of the famous Cave Temples in Ipoh followed
by lunch in a local restaurant. Then we proceed to Kuala Kangsar, with
its unique Ubudiah Mosque - a magnificent building with golden dome -
and the former palace of the Sultan of Perak with its intricate woodcarvings.
Have glimpse of the official residence of the Sultan of Perak - Istana
Iskandariah before leaving this charming royal town. Continuing to Province
Wellesley you will cross the Penang Bridge (spanning 13.5 km - the longest
bridge in Asia and the third in the World) into the island of Penang.
Check into your hotel located on beach. (Breakfast/Lunch)
Day
3 In Penang Today you explore Penang - the Pearl of the Orient and the oldest
British settlement in Malaysia. Visit the various attractions in Georgetown
including the Khoo Kongsi (Dragon Mountain Hall) clan house with its ancient
design constructed to capture the splendour of an Imperial palace, the
historical Fort Cornwallis and the Thai temple of Wat Chayamangkalaram,
which houses a 32 metres reclining Buddha. The rest of afternoon is left for you to enjoy beach and sun. (Breakfast/Lunch)
Day 4 Penang - Kota Bharu Starting off early today, you cross the Malay Peninsula from the west
coast to the east coast, passing through three states, to a contrasting
lifestyle. Enroute you will enjoy a picturesque scenery of Malaysia's
tropical jungles. You then enter the state of Kedah to Kroh or Pengkalan
Hulu, which is next to the Thai border. Onwards to Grik where you join
the East-West Highway with a lunch stop at Banding Island Resort. Leaving
the "Elephant Country" you then continue eastward and cross into Kelantan
to Jeli and onwards to the capital of Kota Bharu. Kota Bharu is a centre
for Malay culture, crafts and religion. It's the place to see kite-flying
contest, admire traditional woodcarvings, photograph, colourful market
place and marvel at the skills of songket weavers. (Breakfast/Lunch)
Day
5 Kota Bharu - Terengganu Kota Bharu is the cultural potpourri of Peninsular Malaysia. Begin
your day with a visit to the famous market of Kota Bharu. You are in for
an experience! Next visit Cik Aminah Songket Weaving workshop and witness
the delicate process in weaving the beautiful songket. On the way to Pantai
Cinta Berahi - the beach of Passionate Love, stop at Ismail Bin Jusoh
and see how the mystical "Wau" or giant kites are made. Late morning proceed
your journey southwards to the state of Terengganu with short stop at
Pulau Duyong to view local master boat builders at work. Check in to your
hotel located near the Pantai Batu Burok(Ugly Stone Beach).Rest
of the late afternoon is free for your own activities. (Breakfast/Lunch)
Day 6 Terengganu - Kuantan After breakfast, visit a local cottage industry producing the traditional
Batik cloth and brassware under the same roof. A short scenic drive along
the coastal road will bring you into the state of Pahang and to Kuantan.
You will see Malay villages built in kampung style and opportunity to
sample a traditional delicacy - Lemang(Glutinous rice cooked in bamboo
with coconut milk).Your journey continues passing Chukai known as
Texas of Malaysia due to the discovery of natural gas. After Chukai, short
stop at the Cherating Village where you will witness the Pig's Tail Monkey
plucking coconut under it's master command and visit a Mengkuang Weaving
Center. Rest of the day is for you to relax at the beach. (Breakfast/Lunch)
Day 7 Kuantan - Malacca Depart Kuantan early for Malacca - you will pass lush tropical jungle,
rubber and palm oil plantation and enchanting laid-back, kampong or Malay
villages. Arrive Malacca in the late afternoon. (Breakfast/Lunch)

8 Malacca-Kuala Lumpur After breakfast, you tour the historical city of Malacca visiting
major attractions of St. Paul’s Hill, the renowned Porta De Santiago,
Cheng Hoon Teng Temple and Jonkers Street where you can hunt antique souvenirs.
Visit the Baba Nyonya Museum - for an interesting insight of the lifestyle
& tradition of the unique peranakans. After lunch, you rejoin the
highway passing Seremban to Kuala Lumpur International Airport ( KLIA
) for yours onwards flight. (Breakfast/Lunch)
